Enrollment Information

HOW TO APPLY TO JOHN MUIR (CLIP) FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR: 

New Student Registration: January 5, 2026 to February 11, 2026

Open Enrollment: February 2, 2026 to February 13, 2026

Step 1: Register your child with the Student Assignment Office

For new students, registration must be completed to receive a 6 digit PERM ID#

Please visit: Student Assignment for registration information or contact your attendance area/neighborhood school.

For matriculating students, your student already has a 6 digit PERM ID# that can be retrieved through ParentVue or through the office at the school they currently attend.
 

New student registration will be opened from January 5, 2026 through February 11, 2026

Step 2: Attend a Parent Information Meeting

You must register for a meeting via one of the following links using your 

child’s assigned 6 digit PERM ID#

Mandatory Parent Information Meetings Registration: 

​​(If your child is entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade, you are required to attend Miller CLIP (not John Muir CLIP) parent sessions. Please contact Miller Middle School. The following 4 parent sessions ONLY apply for students entering Kinder - 5th grade)

#1 Meeting: Tuesday, January 27th from 11:00am to 12:00pm (Virtual - Register for this meeting)

#2 Meeting: Thursday, January 29th from 10:00am to 11:00am (In person) Registration LINK

#3 Meeting: Tuesday, February 3rd from 12:00pm to 1:00pm (Virtual - Register for this meeting)

#4 Meeting: Thursday, February 12th from 11:00am to 12:00pm (In person) Registration LINK

It is important for your child to have a valid 6 digit Perm ID# when parents register to attend a parent information session. If you have a sibling currently attending CLIP at John Muir Elementary, this meeting is not required.  However, it is mandatory that you enter the incoming sibling into the lottery during the Open Enrollment window.

Step 3: Apply via the Open Enrollment link

The link will be on the CUSD website and will be live at 8:00 am February 2, 2026 and will close at 4:00 pm on February 13, 2026

Absolutely no exceptions will be made for these deadlines.

Open Enrollment Lottery will be run on or before February 27th, 2026. The waitlist will be posted no later than March 13th, 2026. Waitlist numbers will expire annually, if you wish to continue to be considered for enrollment at John Muir Elementary (CLIP), you MUST attend another parent information session and apply for Open Enrollment each year.
